The staff at @manoas_uvitacr (past ones and current ones not pictured here) have taken care of my groups for the past 7 years, and if you ask anyone who’s been on retreat, you will find out just how truly special and wonderful they are. They’ve become my friends and have given me an understanding of Pura Vida and the beautiful culture here that you’ll never find in books or travel blogs.

Yesterday, on my last day, they gifted me this beautiful parrot feather and invited me to a home cooked meal…..my heart is so full and I can’t wait to see them again…..one day soon.

This was the grand finale of my time in Corcovado

This was the grand finale of my time in Corcovado National Park….on the last hike my guide told me he had a surprise….and when he told me what it was, I didn’t believe him. I never in a million years imagined I would get the experience of going inside a giant tree. This is the kind of thing you only get to do when you go off the beaten path…..plus it’s low season here and with very few tourists around, I got to see and do things that were really extraordinary. Life hack:::::don’t follow the crowds, or the internet.

Sometimes those things in life happen that you will never-ever forget…..I finally got to see the animal I’ve always wanted to see (in the wild.) I had a few super close encounters, but this was the first one. I was so emotional and shocked and also a little bit scared, but my guide was so great he reassured me and it was an absolutely breathtaking moment.
