Grounded Journeys: A Story Worth Sharing

Recently, I had the honor of being featured in The Community Paper, our beautiful local Orlando publication that proudly reminds us that “good news happens here.”

When Anna Claire, the author of the piece, first reached out to me, I’ll be honest: I chuckled and told her that my life really wasn’t interesting enough to write about. From my perspective, I’m simply living my day-to-day, balancing my role as an acupuncturist and owner at Harmony Wellness Center, guiding retreats with Live in Harmony Retreats, and walking my Boston Terrier (while keeping him endlessly entertained with new puzzle toys). To me, it felt ordinary and not exactly headline-worthy.

But Anna Claire saw something I didn’t. She reminded me that sometimes the simplest threads of our story are the ones that hold the most meaning. The way we choose to pause. The way we create space for others to breathe. The way travel and presence can transform not only ourselves but ripple outward into community.

That’s how the article “Grounded Journeys” was born, not from me trying to make my story “important,” but from letting someone else hold up a mirror and reflect back the impact of the work I love so much.

What the Article Captures

In the piece, Anna Claire shares about my path from acupuncture to yoga to retreat-leading, and how these practices aren’t separate compartments of my life, but a continuous thread of holding space for healing and transformation. She writes about travel that isn’t about the stamp in a passport, but the grounding in the moment. Journeys that shift you inward, and then invite you to bring that presence back home.

Reading it, I was reminded of why I created Live in Harmony Retreats: to offer spaces where people can reconnect with themselves, the earth, and a sense of wonder. To prove that you don’t have to run away from life to change it, you just need to be present to it.

My Gratitude

I’m deeply grateful to Anna Claire for seeing me through this lens, and to The Community Paper for continuing to highlight stories that uplift, heal, and inspire. I’m humbled that they felt my journey was worth sharing among those pages.
